It Began With A Craftsman
Long before Oslo Leather Company became a footwear house, there was a craftsman, a piece of leather, and a commitment to doing things properly.
My grandfather dedicated his life to the craft of leather. His pursuit of knowledge took him to Italy, where he worked alongside experienced craftsmen and developed an appreciation for the precision, patience, and discipline required to create exceptional leather goods.
He brought that knowledge home — not simply as a profession, but as a philosophy. Leather was never treated as just a material. It was something to understand, select carefully, work patiently, and allow to become better with time.
The Second Generation
That philosophy was passed to my father, who continued the family business and expanded it into the retail and wholesale leather trade.
For years, our family worked with leather at its foundation — sourcing, selecting, handling, and supplying it to businesses that understood its value. This gave us something that cannot be bought overnight: decades of first-hand experience with the material itself.
We learned how leather behaves. How it ages. How it responds to finishing. How different hides carry different characteristics. And most importantly, how much the final product depends on the quality of what you begin with.
The Third Generation
I grew up around that world.
As a young entrepreneur and the third generation of our family business, I wanted to take everything we had learned and build something that could stand on its own internationally.
That vision became Oslo Leather Company.
We moved beyond supplying leather and began creating the finished product ourselves — developing refined footwear built around the material our family had spent generations understanding.
Today, we create premium leather footwear including formal shoes, loafers, boots, and other timeless silhouettes designed for people who appreciate exceptional materials, considered construction, and understated luxury.
